PingPolls vs Typeform: Which Form Builder Fits Product Research?

A fair side-by-side for founders who want to know which variant people will buy before the factory order is paid.

Say you run a beauty brand the way Rina does. Your factory has quoted a minimum order for a new lip tint, you have four shade ideas and budget for one, and you want your followers and past buyers to tell you which shade they would actually buy before you pay. Because most of them will answer on a phone, you look for a form builder that feels friendly there, and Typeform and PingPolls both come up since both ask one question at a time. This page compares the two on what matters for that decision, and it says plainly where Typeform is the better pick.

Every Typeform fact here comes from Typeform's own pages, checked on 6 November 2026 and listed under Sources. Plans change, so look at Typeform's pricing page before you decide.

One question at a time, in two styles

Both tools keep the respondent on a single question, so the difference is how that question looks. In PingPolls the form reads like a chat. Each question arrives as a bubble after a short typing indicator, and short choice lists appear on the respondent's side as reply chips, the same way a quick reply works in a messaging app. Respondents can tap the pencil next to an earlier answer to change it, and on a phone the answer field always sits just above the keyboard, so nothing gets covered.

Typeform's own template pages describe its format as "asking one question at a time, in a format that feels like a conversation." If your buyers already talk to you in DMs, the chat look of PingPolls will feel familiar to them (and nobody has to scroll past twelve questions to find the submit button).

Ranking shades two at a time

Typeform has a ranking question, where the respondent puts a list of items in order. PingPolls approaches the same job differently with preference ranking. The respondent sees two options and picks one, then another pair, and pairs that earlier picks already settle are skipped, so a list of up to 10 options never feels long. A progress bar shows how far along they are, and you get a ranked list with scores for every option.

For Rina's four shades, that means each follower makes a handful of quick this-or-that picks instead of dragging four swatches around a small screen. When she wants a quick gut reaction to single ideas instead, sentiment cards let people rate up to 20 cards with an icon pair such as like or dislike, and the time each answer took is recorded.

How sure each pick was

Because PingPolls times every this-or-that pick, Certiscore™ can turn that time into a signal of how sure the respondent was. A shade that wins with quick, confident picks tells you something different from a shade that wins after long hesitation, and that difference matters when you are about to commit to a factory order. Certiscore works on preference ranking and sentiment cards, and it is one more quality check you can read next to your other answers. It is not a bot detector and it cannot tell you whether a person or a program answered. Read how we analyze answers, or see the Certiscore guide for where the signal shows up.

Result pages that follow the answers

Both tools can show different endings depending on answers. In Typeform, logic can jump to a thank-you screen, a thank-you screen can redirect to another address, and score and price variables let you calculate totals.

PingPolls does the same job with result pages. You add result sections to the form, and a Set Result action in your conditional logic picks the one each respondent sees, with the last matching rule winning. Inside a result you can insert the respondent's own answers, a calculated custom field, or a value from the link, and a result can be rich text, your own HTML and CSS, or a redirect. Logic and custom fields are free on every PingPolls plan, so Rina can send everyone who ranked the coral shade first to a page that thanks them and tells them when it lands in her store, without upgrading first.

Integrations

Typeform's integrations page lists tools such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Calendly, Slack, Salesforce, Excel Online and Google Analytics.

PingPolls sends each new response to spreadsheets and databases such as Google Sheets and Airtable, to chat apps (Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams and Telegram get a count-only notice, never the answers), to automation tools (webhooks, Make and n8n), and to Odoo, Meta Pixel and Google Analytics on Pro and Teams. HubSpot and Salesforce show as Coming soon in the PingPolls Integrations tab, which means you can't connect them yet. The integrations guide has the full list.

If your email marketing runs on Klaviyo or your follow-up calls run through Calendly, Typeform lists both, and PingPolls does not offer either one.

When Typeform is the better choice

Typeform fits better when you take money or signatures in the form, because Typeform has payment and signature questions and PingPolls has neither. Typeform's homepage also describes video and audio responses and AI-moderated interviews, so if you want to hear people talk through their answer on camera, that is their territory.

When PingPolls is the better choice

PingPolls fits better when the question is "which one should we make?" Pairwise preference ranking gives you a ranked list with scores, and Certiscore adds how sure each pick was, which is exactly what Rina needs before she pays a minimum order.

It also fits when you want logic and personalised result pages on the Free plan, when your respondents speak different languages (form screens come in 12 languages), and when you want to start from a description with the AI form builder instead of a blank page.

Frequently asked questions

Is PingPolls free to start?

Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited forms and 100 responses every month, with logic, custom fields, colors, font and style included. Your own logo and custom domain come with Pro and Teams.

Does PingPolls have an NPS or rating-scale question?

Yes. PingPolls has 16 question types, including rating and opinion scale and Net Promoter Score, and the Results tab shows the average and the NPS score for you. Use preference ranking or sentiment cards when you want people to compare options instead of scoring one thing.

Is Certiscore a bot detector?

No. Certiscore reads how long each this-or-that pick took and turns that time into a signal of how sure the respondent was. It is one more quality check, not a way to tell people from programs.

Can both tools send people to different pages after they submit?

Yes. Typeform uses logic jumps to thank-you screens and redirects, and PingPolls uses logic to pick a result section, which can show the respondent's own answers or redirect them.
